SAMORA

Samora was created in 2016 by singer/songwriter Steven Samora. After playing in bands for a number of years around the central valley of California as a guitar player, Steven began writing and recording full compositions and demos with all instrumentation, including his vocals. Samora was initially created as a recording project to follow up Steven's previous band Through the Ashes. In 2016 after spending some time recording and playing solo acoustic shows at various open mics to overcome his fear of singing in front of crowds, he began showing friends and fellow musicians a 5 song demo he had created and received favorable feedback. Steven decided to recruit ex members of previous bands to fill out guitar, bass, and drum parts to play the 5 songs he created as a band. With the support of his friends/ex members, Samora played around the central valley doing local showcases and opening up for national bands like Hed PE, Trapt, and Flying Blind. After playing around Modesto for a couple years, Steven relocated to Sacramento in 2018 for a job and began playing in the area at local venues. He began honing his skills in music production and re-recorded a batch of songs and distributed them to online streaming platforms. Samora was put on hold during the COVID pandemic and all members disbursed leaving Steven on his own. This gave him time to write follow up material to his previously released songs. When the country began to open up, he recruited new members and immediately began booking shows. As of today, Samora has new material ready to be released and actively booking shows in the Sacramento area. Samora is currently Steven Samora (Singer/Songwriter/Lead Guitar) Mikey Wright (Drums), Kat Kompa (Bass/Vocals), Jaime McTernan (Lead Guitar/Vocals) and Tony Strasburg (Rhythm Guitar).
